Grant Application

The Law Foundation of Saskatchewan (LFS), established under The Legal Profession Act, 1990, inspires and supports initiatives that advance justice through better access, increased knowledge, and innovation. More background can be found here

Grant funding

The Foundation awards grants to various organizations in support of legal education, legal research, legal aid, law libraries and law reform.  The Foundation seeks to support innovative programs and initiatives promoting accessible justice.

The Foundation supports organizations by providing operating funding and special project support. Funding for these organizations has been constrained in recent years due to low interest rates. Applications for such funding are considered quarterly as described below.

The Foundation anticipates a one-time surplus injection as a result of the significant increase in interest rates that began in 2022. As a result, the Foundation is making a special call for organizations to submit one-time grant proposals which meet the legislated mandate of the Foundation. The successful applicants will be funded under a Legacy Grant Program for one-time projects that require a minimum expenditure of $50,000 and with a project duration no longer than three years.
