The Foundation board met on December 9, 2020 and is pleased to announce the following appointments effective January 1, 2021.
Tom Schonhoffer, Q.C. was elected as Chair. Since November 19, 2020, Tom has been Acting Chair after Melanie Baldwin, Q.C. was appointed as a Judge of Her Majesty’s Court of Queen’s Bench for Saskatchewan. David Chow, J.D. was elected Vice Chair.
The Foundation also welcomes three new board appointments of the Law Society of Saskatchewan (LSS). The recommendation for these appointments were made by a Joint Selection Committee comprised of members of LSS and the Foundation.
Returning to the board is Irene Seiferling who was previously appointed by the Ministry of Justice until her term ended in November 2019. Under the legislative changes introduced in the spring of 2020, LSS appointments are not required to be members of the Society and Irene is the first non-member to be appointed to the Board.
New to the board are Lee Anne Schienbein and Sean Sinclair. Lee Anne is an Associate Corporate Counsel with SaskTel in Regina. Sean is a lawyer with Robertson Stromberg in Saskatoon.
