The Law Society of Saskatchewan appoints five of the board members of the Law Foundation of Saskatchewan. There are currently three appointments to be made, effective January 1, 2021.
Historically, these board appointments were limited to Law Society members. Earlier this year, The Legal Profession Act,1990 was changed to allow appointments other than members of the Society. A joint Selection Committee has been formed to make these appointments, and consists of members from the Society and the Foundation.
The Law Society is seeking both interested Law Society members, as well as members of the public who are not lawyers for consideration in the appointment process.
